Lower Yuba River - Marysville, CA

TROUT & STEELHEAD

The Lower Yuba River down to Marysville is a truly unique trout fishery. Great pocket water fishing, a winter dry fly Skwala hatch, fall Terrestrials, and Steelhead runs are some of the most notable features of this stretch. Additionally, the trout are some of the hottest, hardest fighting trout you can find. The Yuba fishes well throughout the year, but some days can be quite challenging.

Trips Offered

Trout, Steelhead and Salmon trips. Trips on the Yuba River often involve a combination of walk and wade and fishing from a drift boat due to the technical nature of this river. Single handed rods mostly, but there are seasons where switch/spey techniques are quite effective. Offering Full Day and Half Day trips. Not recommended for beginning anglers. Leave your 5wt. trout rod at home, these fish fight hard and at least a 6wt. rod is recommended.
