North Yuba River - Downieville, CA

TROUT

The North Yuba River is one of a limited number of freestone streams in Northern California, offering a good population of wild trout. When summer heat in the Central Valley soars, the North Yuba is a wonderful escape. Fish are targeted with a variety of presentation techniques, and the low flows create excellent opportunities for euro nymphing or slack-line presentations. Dry-dropper rigs are often used instead of indicators. The North Yuba is fishable with flows below 800 cfs, but most anglers prefer to fish it when flows are below 200 cfs.
